Summary of God’s time scale in Scripture

Showing points 1 and 2 - Hosea 6 and Luke 13

2Peter 3 v 8: But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Psalms 90 v 4: For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

Note: Matthew 24 v 33- 24: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

Our Lord Jesus spoke these words after giving us the signs of His soon return in Luke 21, Mark 13 and Matthew 24. Genesis 15 v 13 and 16 combined show us what God’s generation is. It is not less than 100 years and can be no more than 125 years (an exact figure we are not told). If we were to take Genesis 6 v 3 as God’s exact generation it would be 120 years. The words of our Lord Jesus Christ above tell us that all the signs of His soon return will be fulfilled within 1 generation. There is only one place from which this final generation can be taken and that is when ‘Nation shall rise against Nation and Kingdom against Kingdom’. This is because it is the first sign of ‘the beginning of sorrows’ in Matthew 24 and is pre-empted by the word ‘then’ in Luke 21. What Jesus speaks before this are clearly 2 general signs over the last 2000 years classified by the words ‘but the end is not by and by’. Hence when our Lord speaks the 4 signs for ‘the beginning of sorrows’ this must begin the last generation. In all of history there has never been a World War followed by a 2nd World War. This sign marks the beginning of sorrows / the beginning of the last generation. This is confirmed to us by another prophetic sign that has not taken place in 2000 years - the rebirth of Israel in 1948 (Ezekiel 37v21, 38v8). This sign took place shortly after the 2nd World War. All things will be complete within this generation including Armageddon.

70 WEEKS OF DANIEL 9 v 24 - 27 / ‘TO ANOINT THE MOST HOLY’ (v 24)

Note 1:  The 7 churches of Revelation = the body of Christ on earth over 2000 years   (1 Corinthians 12 v 27). This is why our Lord Jesus speaks ‘church’ singular at the beginning of each address and ‘churches’ plural at the end of each address, to the 7 churches e.g. Revelation 2 v 1, 7. A detailed study of the 7 churches will reveal this clearly, e.g. Revelation 3 v 10 -11 speaks of Luke 21 v 25-36, Matthew 25 v 1-10, etc. - Our Lord’s 2nd coming / Rapture of wise virgins just before the Great Tribulation.

Note 2: When understanding Zechariah 4 (which also speaks of the 2 witnesses of Revelation 11), the single candlestick of v2 has 7 lamps. The Apostle John would have known this, as well as being very familiar with the 7 lamped / 6 branched candlestick (the candlestick being the 7th) of Israel - Exodus 25 v 31-40: Both in fact speak of God’s work of salvation amongst His people Israel (the candlestick representing, through God’s Word and by His Spirit, the elect / His church of Israel). This is why our Lord Jesus speaks of us in Matthew 5 v 14-16, as lights set on a candlestick and hence the 7 candlesticks / 7 churches of Revelation (Rev.1v 20).

Therefore the 7 candlesticks of Revelation also speak of 7 lamps upon each, even as Exodus 25 and Zechariah 4. This would give us a total number of 49 lamps for the 7 candlesticks of Revelation; hence therefore the missing 7 and 49 ( 7 x 7) of Daniel 9 - God’s work through His Word, our Lord Jesus, by His Spirit, to redeem His church.

The number 7 speaks of our Lord Jesus and God’s complete work, Revelation 5v6

‘And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.’ (Read Zechariah 3 v 9 + 4 v 10). The 7 trumpets / 7 vials of Revelation speak of God’s complete and final Judgment, the 7 candlesticks / 7 churches speak of His whole body on earth, the 7 seals: God’s complete timetable, what about the 7 thunders - Rev. 10 v 3- 4?

Note 3: Our Lord Jesus is called ‘Messiah the Prince’ at His 2nd coming / rapture because of Israel (Zechariah 12 v 10) and because ‘to anoint the most Holy’ takes place as the 7th angel sounds the 7th trumpet; hence our Lord comes crowned with many crowns at the battle of Armageddon - Rev.19. Revelation 11 v 15 - ‘And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall Reign for ever and ever’. This is when the Coronation takes place - ‘To Anoint The MOST HOLY’ :The Wedding Feast of The Lamb also begins Rev.19 v5-9 which continues after the battle of Armageddon - Isaiah 24 v19 to chapter 25 v6 onwards.

                     GLORIOUS LAND, DANIEL 11v 16 = ISRAEL

DANIEL 9 v 26b - 27 speaks of Antichrist as ‘the prince that shall come’. The ‘people’ who destroy the city and the sanctuary is Rome. This was carried out in fulfilment of prophecy in AD 70 by the Roman army under Titus - Luke 21 v 20-24, Luke 19 v 41-44.

The diagram above is not given for exact historical dates of the rise and fall of power (historians sometimes differ in their exact dates), but rather to give a clearer understanding of Daniel 11 v 5-20 and the approximate boundaries.

DIAGRAM OF END TIME EVENTS AND THE TEMPLE WITH SOME REFERENCES (Cleansing of Sanctuary from Daniel 12 v 12 instead of v 11 – both possible)

(C) Daniel 12 v12 ‘Israel’ - I believe God is speaking to those of His people (Israel) in the strongholds of the rock (Isaiah 42 v 11-16, Isaiah 2 v 10-17, Isaiah 26 v 20-21), who flee when the abomination of desolation is set up in the Temple of God at Jerusalem (Matthew 24 v 15-21, Mark 13 v 14-19, Revelation 12 v 14-16). Hence they should not come out of the strongholds into Jerusalem / Judea at the 1290 days but wait until He comes at 1335 days. God’s most terrible Judgments will be poured out in these intervening days (7 vials) climaxing in the battle of Armageddon. Armies will be gathered in Israel and Jerusalem surrounded, the city will be taken by them just before The Lord fights for Israel and destroys them (Zechariah 14 v 1-2 - note especially what will happen to the women in Jerusalem at that time). Note also what our Lord Jesus says in Matthew 24 v 26-27.

Matthew:24:26: Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

M't:24:27: For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

(Understand our Lord is not speaking of the rapture but His coming at the battle of Armageddon in v 27. Why does the Lord say ‘go not forth’? My understanding would be He is speaking specifically to His people in Israel in the mountains; for it seems that people will seek to entice God’s elect out of the strongholds of the rock before the end of their 1335 day wait.)

  THE SEVEN KINGS OF REVELATION 17 v 10 - DANIEL Chapters 2,7,8,11

(note – King speaks also of kingdom/Empire e.g. head king of Babylon = king

Nebuchadnezzar, and kingdom = successive kings e.g. king Belshazzar.

Antichrist is the 7th final, singular king but he has 10 kings under him.)

1 – King of Babylon / Babylonian Empire – head of gold, lion with eagles wings.

2 and 3 – King of the Medes and  King of  the Persians / Empires – Arms and breast of silver, bear, 2 horns of ram – higher horn = Persian kings.

4 – King of Greece / Grecian Empire – belly of brass, leopard and goat - the first great horn = Alexander the great.

5 – King of the South / Ptolemy, Seleucid Empire / part of the Grecian Empire – brass thigh, 1 of the 4 heads of leopard, 1 of the 4 notable horns of goat.

(4 wings of the leopard = 4 winds of heaven Daniel 8 v 8– North, South, East, West).

6 – King of the North / Roman Empire / part of old Grecian Empire – 2nd brass thigh, 2nd head of leopard, 2nd notable horn of goat.

 7 – The Antichrist/Beast – Comes out of old Roman Empire –Daniel 11v 21, 9 v 26 Antichrist = little horn /beast– Daniel 7 v 8,11,20,21,24 -26. Little horn/Fierce

King – Daniel 8 v 9-12, 23-25. Vile person/King – Daniel 11 v 21-39.

  - Antichrist rises from the papal seat of the Vatican in Rome, the old seat of power of the Roman Empire (Daniel 11v 13-21), usurped by the popes of Rome.

  - 7 heads of the scarlet beast = 7 mountains on which the city of Rome (the great whore) is built (Rev 17 v 9, 18). The scarlet beast that ‘yet is’, is the 8th and is of the 7 (Rev 17 v 11), this speaks of the rise of Antichrist from the Vatican of Rome which is built on the 8th hill/mountain of Rome - ‘Vatican Hill’. The other 7 are Capitoline, Quirinal, Viminal, Esquiline, Caelian (Coelian/Celio), Aventine and Palatine.

Here are some of the scriptures in the Old Testament that speak of the battle of Armageddon and God’s deliverance after Judgment for Israel. Understand that in many of these scriptures you will also see the prelude to the battle of Armageddon and what takes place afterwards e.g. Ezekiel 38 and 39.

Malachi 4 v 1-3, Zechariah 14, Zechariah 12 v 1-9 (note: Judah fights v 5-6 / Judah fights Zechariah 12 v 14), Haggai 2 v 20-23, Zephaniah 3 v 8-20, Habakkuk 3, Nahum 1 (note: Nineveh speaks of more than just ancient Nineveh even as Babylon speak of more than just ancient Babylon / Babel, Revelation 17 and 18, Genesis 10 v 10-11.) Micah 7 v 7-12, v 14-20, Micah 4 v 11-13, Chapter 5 v 5-15, Obadiah 1 v 15-21, Joel 2 v 1-11 and v 18-27, Joel 3, Jeremiah 25 v 30-33 (the slain from one end of the earth to the other = trumpet Judgments, note every city collapses - Revelation 16 v 19), Jeremiah 4 v 23-28, Isaiah 66 v 15-24, Isaiah 63 v 1-6, Isaiah 59 v 16-20, Isaiah 49 v 25-26, Isaiah 42 v 10-18, Isaiah 34 and 35, Isaiah 33, Isaiah 30 v 25-33, Isaiah 29 v 1-10 ( v 1-4 also speak of Jerusalem’s destruction in AD 70 etc.) v 17-24, Isaiah 28 v 1-6, 22 (The wicked of Israel are also cut off at the battle of Armageddon, as well as the nations, only the righteous of Israel are saved, read Zechariah 14 v 1-3, Isaiah 13 and Daniel 12 v 1), Isaiah 26 v 1-9, v 20-21 and chapter 27 v 1-9, v 12-13, Isaiah 24 and 25 Isaiah 17 v 12-14 (there is also much in chapter 19 and 18 speaking of the day of Judgment and blessing - 19 v 19-25), Isaiah 16 v 4-5, Isaiah 14 (note : this is the proverb that shall be spoken in our Lord’s 1000 year Reign ( see v 1-4) against Satan (King of Babylon) when he is in the bottomless pit (see v 12-19 and Revelation 20 v 1-3). Satan is cast into the pit at the battle of Armageddon.) Isaiah 13, Much of Isaiah 11 especially v 4, Isaiah 10 (Judgment against Israel by the Assyrian, this has taken place to Israel before but is finally completed in the work of Antichrist note - verse 12-27 and Antichrists final destruction at the battle of Armageddon. Note verse 33 and 34, who is the ‘mighty one’? Chapter 11 tells us), Isaiah 9 v 3b-7, Isaiah 2 v 10-21, Isaiah 1 v 27-28 plus, Psalm 149, Psalm 118, Psalm 68, Psalm 2 (there are many Psalms that speak of God’s final Judgment and especially the 1000 year Reign), 2 Samuel 22 v 1-51 and chapter 23 v 1-5 (note : As well as being to David’s immediate enemies, this is a prophecy (23 v 1-2) of God’s final Judgment against the enemies of Israel - i.e. v 8-19, This is the language spoken by the Holy Ghost through the prophets for the day of God’s great wrath / vengeance. David also did not speak like this on the day of Saul’s death when he was delivered from Saul read 2 Samuel 1 v 11-27), I Samuel 2 v 1-10 (most clearly seen in v 10), Judges 5 v 1-23 and 31b (a careful study and comparison of chapters 4 and 5 will reveal that the song of Deborah and Barak is prophetic, although based on the battle of chapter 4 there is much in the song that does not match chapter 4 and speaks of the day when God shall rise up to battle i.e. v 3-5, 10-11, 19-23, 31b. Also verses 14-17 do not correlate with chapter 4 for they were never called to the battle - 4 v 6, note also the number 10 000, which speaks of Deuteronomy 33 v 2 and Jude v 14-16 - 10 000’s ). Deuteronomy 32 v 22, 39-43, Deuteronomy 33 v 2-3, 26-29, Numbers 24 v 14-24, Genesis 49 v 8-11 (read also Revelation 5 v 5. In relation to blood red garments read Revelation 19 v 13, Isaiah 63 v 1-3, Revelation 14 v 20), Genesis 22 v 17b-18 (note 17a speaks of the children of Abraham, for which we are included (Romans 9 v 8, Romans 4 v 16), but 17b and 18 speaks of Christ (Galatians 3 v 16), for God speaks ‘his’, singular not ‘their’ plural, and only God in Christ has wrought Salvation and therefore blessing to all nations - v 18; Abraham because of his obedience being the chosen line for the Promise to come given in the garden of Eden - Genesis 3 v 15b).

Zechariah 14 v 16-21, Micah 4 v 1-8 (note verse 5 is speaking of the name of God in the different languages of the nations e.g. Jesus, Yeshua, Esa etc., verse 5 is not speaking of Idols, so God should be capital ‘G’ ), Zephaniah 3 v 14-20, Amos 9 v 13-15, Joel 2 v 21-29, (note, last 2 verses also speak of our Lord’s 1000 year Reign), Joel 3 v 17-21, Hosea 14 v 4-9, Daniel 2 v 44, Ezekiel 47, 48, Isaiah 66 v 18-24, Isaiah 65 v 19-25, Isaiah 61 v 3-11 and chapter 62 v 1-5, 8-12, Isaiah 60 v 4-22, Isaiah 56 v 4-8, Isaiah 55 v 12-13, Isaiah 54, Isaiah 52 v 1-3, 6-15, Isaiah 51 v 1-11, Isaiah 49 v 7-13, 16-26, Isaiah 44 v 1-8 Isaiah 43 v 18-21, Isaiah 35 v 1-2, 5-10, Isaiah 33 v 17-22, Isaiah 32 v 1-5, 15-20, Isaiah 29 v 17-24, Isaiah 27 v 1-6, Isaiah 25 v 1-3, 6-9, Isaiah 19 v 23-25, Isaiah 14 v 1-20, Isaiah 12,

Isa:9:7: Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Isaiah:2:2: And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

Isa:2:3: And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

Isa:11:5: And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

Isa:11:6: The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

Isa:11:7: And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

Isa:66:24: And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

6 - Revelation 21 and 22 v 1-5 -‘The Eternal Reign of God and the New Heaven and New Earth: Isaiah 65 v 17-19 (Isaiah 66 v 22), Daniel 7 v 13-14, 18, 27 - note, the verses in Daniel also speak of our Lord’s 1000 year Reign on earth before the New Heaven and New Earth. God’s people who will receive their resurrected bodies will start their Eternal Reign with Christ from the beginning of The Lord’s 1000 year Reign, but those who will repopulate the earth in our Lord’s 1000 year Reign shall still be subject to death and sorrow and will receive their resurrected bodies at the Great White Throne Judgment, just before the New Heaven and New Earth. This is why both everlasting joy and people subject to death can be seen in the scriptures speaking of our Lord’s 1000 year Reign, and also why both the 1000 year Reign and God’s Eternal Reign are often seen merged together e.g. Isaiah 65 v 17-25, Isaiah 51 v 1-11, Isaiah 9 v 6-7, (1Corinthians 15 v 24-28).
