LEFT BEHIND, THE REASON WHY AND THE NEED FOR TRUE REPENTANCE

 

Isaiah 59 v 1-2: Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

 

Isaiah 1 v 18: Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

 

2Peter:3:9: The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

2Pe:3:10: But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

 

Let us consider Matthew 25:

 

Matthew:25:1: Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

M't:25:2: And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

M't:25:3: They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

M't:25:4: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

M't:25:5: While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

M't:25:6: And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

M't:25:7: Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

M't:25:8: And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

M't:25:9: But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

M't:25:10: And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

M't:25:11: Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

M't:25:12: But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

M't:25:13: Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

 

 

1. The first truth that is to be noted in verse 1, is that the KINGDOM OF HEAVEN is likened unto TEN VIRGINS. God is telling us here that He will not lose His five foolish virgins left behind, for they are part of the heavenly kingdom (what a great comfort for those left behind).

 

 

2. They all have lamps, the Word of God.

 

Psalms:119:105: Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

 

A note for foolish virgins - Do not think this passage of scripture means corrupted translations are OK. It does not refer to this at all but rather to the dormant Word of God that is in your hearts that has not been oiled with the oil of His Holy Spirit - in others words you have not obeyed His Voice, God’s Word - you have not obeyed God’s first commandment to Love Him with all your heart, soul, mind and strength - you have loved the things of the world (whether it be what people think of you; money; entertainments e.g. the television, cinema etc.; books - magazines - music etc. of the world (there is much called ‘Christian’ which is worldly and of the devil); hobbies; sports; the love of holidays; (lover of pleasure more than God); hiding your light under a bushel; the fear of man; little time spent meditating in God’s Holy Word - more time spent on everything else e.g. eating; little zeal for God and His Judgments / Commandments - worldliness instead of Holiness; and so on), this is adultery in God’s sight and are some of the thorns that choke the Word of God making it unfruitful - Luke 8 v 14.

 

James 4 v 4-5: Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?

 

1Corinthians 3 v 16-17: Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

 

1John 2 v 15: Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

 

 

3. The wise virgins have oil, the foolish do not. The oil both in the Old and New Testament speaks of the presence of God on / in, a man, woman or child. This oil of the Holy Spirit is withdrawn when we do not seek God with ALL our Heart and obey His voice. Here are some examples of God’s Holy Presence in the Old and New Testament.

 

1 Samuel 16 verse 1-13

1Samuel:16:13: Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward.  So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.

 

Acts 10 v 1-48

Acts:10:44: While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

Ac:10:45: And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

 

Further references: 1 Samuel  10 v 1-13, Numbers 11 v 16-25, Genesis 41 v 38-39, 2 Kings 2 v 1-14, Isaiah 44 v 1-3, Joel 2 v 27-32. Our Lord Jesus - Isaiah 11v 1-10, Isaiah 61 v 1-3, Luke 4 v 17-21, to His Body- John 14 v 15-21, John 15v 25-27, John 16v 7-15. Acts Ch 2.

 

The Holy presence of God made accessible to all who repent and believe:

 

Matthew:27:50: Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

M't:27:51: And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

 

The way (our Lord Jesus Christ) opened into the Holy of Holies through His blood shed. The Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world.

 

Acts:2:38: Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

 

Jesus said: Mark:8:34b: Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

M'r:8:35: For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.

M'r:8:36: For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

M'r:8:37: Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

 

Romans:8:6: For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

 

Romans:8:13: For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Ro:8:14: For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Repentance equals death to self and sin.

 

 

4. Matthew:25:7: Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

 

It is clear all virgins trim their lamps. This started to take place in me on the 11th Jan 05. Large portions of God’s Holy Word which I knew very well before suddenly became crystal clear. I rapidly began to understand how the whole of prophecy dovetails beautifully together, no missing pieces (apart from what God has not told us e.g. seven thunders) and no more haze. Instead a clear panorama of God’s majestic prophetic Word. It was like a mountain of manna from heaven being poured out on me and I was eating as fast as I could, how wonderful.

 

Before this took place on the 11th Jan 05, I knew God’s Holy Word very well. (Although I am only 34, I have done much work for The Lord my God, and have a strong testimony of God’s preserving grace in my life. I am aware of at least 3 times in the last 15 years where Satanic covens in the UK have tried to kill me; each time sending me a specific message before hand. This has included strong evil spirits, one for example which came to me at night and wrapped itself round my body like a giant snake and tried to crush the life out of me. Although unable to breathe or move any part of my body, as the name of The Lord Jesus passed through my mind, the devil uncoiled with a hideous scream and fled. Although I was unaware at first of the activities of Satanic groups (until they sent me messages); I was very much aware that I was preaching the undiluted Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ; and people were coming in repentance into the Kingdom of God. God was also working miracles in fulfilment of His Word.)

 

God tells us though the prophet Daniel that at the time of the end God will unseal prophecies given in His Word and the wise shall understand.

 

a).Daniel:8:19: And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be.

 

Daniel:8:26: And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days.

 

b). Daniel:12:8: And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?

Da:12:9: And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

Daniel:12:10: Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

 

In Daniel chapter 7, God gives to Daniel a vision which is a summary of the whole of world history from the time of the Babylonian empire (the time of Daniel) right through to our Lord’s eternal Reign.

 

The following 3 visions given to Daniel (2nd vision chapter 8, 3rd chapter 9, 4th chapters 10, 11, 12 ) all flesh out the summary vision of chapter 7, and expressly deal with the final rise of Antichrist in the last 7 years of world history. This is very needful for those left behind during the Great Tribulation so that they understand that God is in control at all times.

 

To summarise point 4, the trimming of the lamps has begun in earnest.

 

 

5. Matthew:25:9: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

 

Revelation:3:18: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

Re:3:19: As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

 

James:1:5: If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

 

 

6. Matthew:25:10: And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

M’t:25:11: Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

M't:25:12: But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

 

Revelation:3:15: I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

Re:3:16: So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

 

I can testify that having preached righteousness to the church in the UK for some 17 years now (I began at the beginning when I was 17) which has spanned all major denominations; almost everyone has refused to repent (change their way of living: and have given many excuses for carrying on the way they are). This is a strong witness against the Lukewarm church. But as I have preached God’s Holy Word (all of it) to many in the world I have seen repentance.

 

1Samuel:15:22: And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD?  Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

1Sa:15:23a: For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. 

 

You may ask, surely half the church is going. This is true for the body of Christ worldwide but this is not the case for the church in the western world and those who have copied them.

 

Our Lord Jesus clearly portrays this difference in Revelation chapter 3. Let us look at the 3 last churches of the 7 churches Jesus speaks to.

 

(Note: The 7 churches of Revelation do not only speak of the 7 churches in Turkey; they also speak of the body of Christ on earth over the last 2000 years (1 Corinthians 12 v 27). This is why our Lord Jesus speaks ‘church’ singular at the beginning of each address and ‘churches’ plural at the end of each address, to the 7 churches as in Revelation 2 v 1, 7. A detailed study of the 7 churches will reveal this clearly e.g. Revelation 3 v 10 -11 speaks of Luke 21 v 25-36, Matthew 25 v 1-10, etc. - Our Lord’s 2nd coming / Rapture of wise virgins just before The Great Tribulation.)

 

 

THE WISE VIRGINS

 

Matthew:25:4: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

 

Matthew:25:10: the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

 

The church in Philadelphia of Revelation 3 speaks of the wise virgins of Matthew 25.

 

Revelation 3 v 7-12

 

1). In verse 10 our Lord speaks:

 

Revelation:3:10b: I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

 

The Lord Jesus is speaking of the time of Antichrist during the last seven years of world history when Satan shall rule the world through the beast and false prophet for 3 ½ years causing those of the world to worship him / his image and receive his mark (Revelation 13).The Great Tribulation is called ‘one hour’ in Revelation 17 v 12.

 

Our Lord Jesus speaks of this in Luke 21 v 35-36:

 

Luke:21:35: For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

v 36: Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

 

2). Our Lord then speaks to the Philadelphian church:

 

Revelation:3:11a: Behold, I come quickly: (speaking of His 2nd coming/rapture)

 

The Lord Jesus does not rebuke the Philadelphian church as he does the churches of Sardis and Laodicea.

 

Sardis:

Revelation:3:3: If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. (Foolish virgins)

 

Laodicea:

Revelation:3:16: So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. (Foolish virgins)

 

Instead of being taken with the wise virgins they are left on earth for the Great Tribulation to be made holy.

 

3). Our Lord speaks of the door of heaven:

 

Revelation:3:7: And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;

Re:3:8: I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

 

This is the same door that is opened for the wise virgins in Matthew 25:

 

Matthew:25:10: And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

 

To be a wise virgin you must be holy as He is holy (v 7a) - 1 Peter 1 v 16.

 

4). ‘He that hath the key of David’: I believe the key of David refers to the opening of the blessed hope of the resurrection of God’s people. Victory over death and being changed into His likeness (1 Corinthians 15 v 51 -55).

 

Revelation:1:18: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

 

There is much that is hidden in these verses of the Philadelphian church showing how they are the wise virgins of Matthew 25 (e.g. their name).

 

The apostle John receives a rapture experience as he finishes recording our Lord’s Words to the seven churches and is taken into heaven:

 

Revelation 4 v 1-3

 

1). Revelation:4:1: After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven:

 

The same door by which the wise virgins of Matthew 25 enter into heaven.

 

John:10:7: Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

 

2). Revelation:4:1: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me;

 

1Corinthians:15:51: Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

1Co:15:52: In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

 

3). Revelation:4:1b: which said, Come up hither,

 

The apostle John is taken up into heaven.

(Luke 17 v 34-37, Revelation 7 v 9-17)

 

4). Revelation:4:2: And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.

Re:4:3: And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.

 

Revelation:7:9: After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

Re:7:10: And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

 

 

THE FOOLISH VIRGINS

 

A. The Pentecostal (Charismatic) ‘plus’, plus churches of the world today:

 

Revelation:3:1: And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.

Re:3:2: Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.

Re:3:3: Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

Re:3:4: Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.

Re:3:5: He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Re:3:6: He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

 

1). The Pentecostal ‘plus’ churches claim to be the Spirit filled church. Our Lord Jesus Christ reminds them that He alone is the one who has the seven Spirits of God, and only whom He baptises with the Holy Ghost and fire is Spirit filled (Luke 3 v16-17). He also reminds the Pentecostal plus churches, that He holds all seven stars in His hand. They are not the only church of Jesus Christ, in fact they are the dead one: despite the colour, the glamour, the noise, etc. The truth is they are but as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal (1 Corinthians 13 v 1b). They are dead. What a shocking indictment to an apparently vibrant church.

 

John:7:24: Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

 

Matthew:7:22: Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

M't:7:23: And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

 

What God requires is straight forward - To believe in Him. But to believe in Him means you obey His Word. If we claim to believe and obey not His commandments we lie and the truth is not in us. John 14 v 21, 1 John 3 v 3-10

 

1John:3:3: And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

1John:3:4: Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

1Jo:3:5: And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

1Jo:3:6: Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

1Jo:3:7: Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

1Jo:3:8: He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

1Jo:3:9: Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

1Jo:3:10: In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

 

Revelation:3:3: Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

 

2. The church started off well; but as the waters of the world crept in, they sank. A ship on the sea is alright, the sea in the ship is all wrong.

 

James:4:4: Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

Jas:4:5: Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?

 

Many seem unaware of what is meant by ‘friendship of the world’, but what God means is clearly taught in scripture.

 

3. The Pentecostal ‘Plus’ church is not ready for the 2nd coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and the vast majority will be left behind to be purged through great tribulation. Many of her present leaders are Wolves in sheep’s clothing, having come from the Great Whore. They are well dressed in sheep’s clothing - speech hard to fault, appearance immaculate. But the gospel they preach is not the real Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ but an accursed one. They do not preach separation from the world but instead a light hearted ‘don’t be legalistic’. They preach a counterfeit faith and are bankrupt themselves. One major turn for the worse and you will find them at the doctors - the arm of flesh shall fail you.

 

Mark:16:18; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

 

Luke:18:8: when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

 

There are also many easy to see counterfeit Pentecostal / Charismatic ‘Plus’  churches which preach a prosperity gospel (the love of money) accompanied by false signs and wonders, the works of Satan and man (some using devil power, some flattery).

 

Be not deceived by comforts; we need Holy Ghost Fire.

 

Mark:8:35: For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.

M'r:8:36: For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Note what God speaks to the church in v 4:

 

Revelation:3:4: Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.

 

The Lord Jesus Christ is shortly coming to take His wise virgins home.

 

WARNING; Satan will seek to use the rapture in at least 2 ways to deceive those left behind:

 

1. Certain of his false apostle / ministers will also disappear from view to make it appear they were men of God teaching the truth. Certain messages will be left behind encouraging God’s people to continue without true repentance - be not deceived.

 

2. Some who disappeared will reappear claiming God has sent them back to help His people - do not be deceived they are wolves in sheep’s clothing, have nothing to do with them and warn others.

 

2Corinthians:11:14: for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

2Co:11:15: Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

 

There are only 2 men sent by God from heaven to earth during great tribulation; and these are the two witnesses of Revelation 11. They will be at Jerusalem for the second half of tribulation, the last 3 ½ years before Armageddon.

 

Revelation:3:5: He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Re:3:6: He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

 

You need a single ear to hear the Word of God and forsake the lies of Satan.

You need a single eye to behold His truth and obey.

 

Matthew:6:22: The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

M't:6:23: But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

M't:6:24: No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. (Money - earthly goods, property, position, career, etc.)

 

When God created Adam and Eve 6000 years ago God created them with 2 eyes that look together in one direction and two ears to hear only His voice of Love. Train your spiritual eyes and ears to do the same; then both will be acceptable before God.

 

FOOLISH VIRGINS

 

B: The lukewarm church: what has been said about the Pentecostal ‘plus’ churches also applies to the lukewarm church (both will be left behind and are spiritually dead - ‘I know you not’ - Matthew 25 v 12). 

 

Revelation:3:14: And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

Re:3:15: I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

Re:3:16: So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Re:3:17: Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

Re:3:18: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

Re:3:19: As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

Re:3:20: Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Re:3:21: To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

Re:3:22: He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

 

All church denominations today are clearly revealed here, Evangelical, Baptist, Church of England, Methodist, Brethren etc. etc. The world over, this is the state of the body of Christ on earth at His coming except for the wise virgins; for example God’s people in China. Few in the western world are wise virgins; the majority are to be found in the poor countries of this world.

 

The Lord reminds His church that He is the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God.

 

Why? Because many lies of Satan have been sown to contradict God’s Holy Word; which the church by and large have swallowed (Praise God not all).

 

1. One of Satan’s many lies which have been allowed to infiltrate the body of Christ is evolution. Jesus reminds His church that He is the beginning of the creation of God not the big bang - ‘big bangs!!’ only create destruction.

 

John:1:1: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Joh:1:2: The same was in the beginning with God.

Joh:1:3: All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

 

Genesis:1:1: In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

 

Genesis:1:3: And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

 

Genesis:1:26: And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Ge:1:27: So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

 

The lie of evolution did not start with Darwin; Satan has been telling this lie for over 4000 years; he has only repackaged it and served it up to deceive the deluded modern world under the guise of being scientific. Apart from being complete folly in the first place, evolution under any true scientific investigation falls apart.

 

1Timothy:6:20: O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

1Tm:6:21: Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

 

Creation was made perfectly by God first time, 6000 years ago, in 6 literal days without fault or death; (creatures evolving over millions of years by death and struggle is complete blasphemy). It was Rebellion to God’s commandment that brought death and destruction.

 

Revelation:20:11: And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

 

Revelation:21:1: And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

 

Revelation:21:5: And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

 

Have you ever thought how God will make the new heaven and new earth? Well here you have it, in a moment in the twinkling of an eye as God speaks the Word His terrible power is unleashed and it is done. God is not going to hang you in space for millions of years as He tries to figure out how to make the new heaven and new earth. Satan’s lies are ridiculous and foolish, a child knows better.

 

The wisdom of this world is foolishness:

1Corinthians:3:19: For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

1Co:3:20: And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

 

2. Lukewarm

Revelation:3:15: I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou

wert cold or hot.

Re:3:16: So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

 

Mark:4:18: And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,

M'r:4:19: And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

 

The sad fact is when confronting the lukewarm church with the clear hallmarks of their lukewarmness (the work which I have done for many years); they cannot see nor grasp the truth of God (the proof being they don’t repent /change). Verse 17 explains why:

 

Revelation:3:17b: thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

 

With The Lord’s coming, many of these scales will fall to the ground for the lukewarm church will be spued out of God’s mouth back onto the earth to endure the great tribulation to be made Holy.

 

The Lord has told me to go through scripture step by step and expose false doctrines and deceptions in the lukewarm church so that you will be in no doubt as to why the lukewarm church will be spued out; this is to lead God’s people to repentance.

 

 

WHAT GOD HATES AND WHAT GOD LOVES

 

Hebrews:1:8: But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

Heb:1:9: Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

 

Leviticus:19:2: Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy.

 

Leviticus:20:26: And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.

 

1Peter:1:16b: Be ye holy; for I am holy.

 

BE YE HOLY FOR I AM HOLY

 

1John:3:3: And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

1Jo:3:4: Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

1Jo:3:5: And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

1Jo:3:6: Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

1Jo:3:7: Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

1Jo:3:8: He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Heb:6:6: If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

 

Proverb:1:7: The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

 

Proverb:2:1: My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;

Proverb:2:2: So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;

Proverb:2:3: Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;

Proverb:2:4: If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;

Proverb:2:5: Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

Proverb:2:6: For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

Proverb:2:7: He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.

Proverb:2:9: Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.

Proverb:2:10: When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;

Proverb:2:11: Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:

Proverb:2:12: To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;

Proverb:2:13: Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

 

James:1:27: Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

 

I will now start with the biggest idol that is in the lukewarm church today which is an abomination / an affront to God.

 

THE HELLEVISION

 

1John:2:15: Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

 

James:4:4: Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

 

The television / hellevision, for that is what God’s people should call it; has graphically portrayed on it every wickedness named from Genesis to Revelation. It teaches men to break every commandment of God; it is full of Satan’s lies and it teaches God’s people to love this world.

 

Galatians:5:19: Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

Ga:5:20: Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

Ga:5:21: Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

 

Those who watch the hellevision are storing up for themselves the wrath of God. All who watch it will not escape the Judgment of God. To lend your ears, eyes, heart and body (which are God’s) to sit and watch evil is the same in God’s sight as committing evil - God’s Judgment will be likewise.

 

Matthew:5:27: Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

M't:5:28: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

 

1Corinthians:6:9: Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

1Co:6:10: Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

 

God commands His people to repent and destroy this work of the Devil.

 

Psalms:101:3: I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

 

Deuteronomy:7:26: Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.

 

Matthew:5:13: Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

 

So called ‘Christian television’ is riddled with false doctrines, and a lukewarm gospel:  

 

James:3:11: Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?

 

1Corinthians:5:6: Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?

 

Matthew:12:30: He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

 

Galations:1:6: I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

Ga:1:7: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

Ga:1:8: But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

Ga:1:9: As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

 

Matthew:12:34: O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

 

I have ‘one word’ from God to those who continue to watch the hellevision and I can assure you it comes directly from heaven:

 

GOD HATES YOUR REBELLION FOR WHICH YOU HAVE COMMITTED FORNICATION AND ADULTERY WITH THE WORLD IN HIS SIGHT AND HAVE EATEN AT THE TABLE OF DEVILS - REPENT.

 

If any of God’s people ignore this warning, your blood is on your own head.

 

Malachi:3:2: BUT WHO MAY ABIDE THE DAY OF HIS COMING?  AND WHO SHALL STAND WHEN HE APPEARETH?  FOR HE IS LIKE A REFINER'S FIRE, AND LIKE FULLERS' SOAP:

 

What I have said about the hellevision goes for all other worldly things (anything by which you have in the past, listened to the world instead of to God’s Holy Word). The radio, books, magazines, music, pleasures and entertainments, sports, toys, fashions etc. In God’s Holy Word are all the guidelines for godly living for example dress for women - 1Timothy 2 v 9.

 

Most Christian books, magazines, music, etc. (especially that of young people) you will need to throw out as well for they are polluted. There are only a few which please God e.g. Pilgrims progress. We need to be saturated in God’s Holy undiluted Word, nothing else.

 

2Timothy:3:1: This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2Tm:3:2: For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

2Tm:3:3: Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

2Tm:3:4: Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

2Tm:3:5: Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

 

2Timothy:4:3: For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

2Tm:4:4: And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

 

Note on music: Music is given by God to worship Him (including in battle): Exodus 15v 1-21, The Psalms, Psalm 150, 2 Chronicles 20 v 15-22, Colossians 3 v 16, Revelation 5 v 9-14, Revelation 15 v 2- 4 for those who go through the Great Tribulation.

 

Music that does not give absolute glory to God is out. Any music that copies the world is an abomination to God.

This includes; jazz, pop, rock, heavy metal, rap, acid etc.

 

Satan has used this music to teach young people and some older ones, to love the world not the other way round. Music is more than words, it has a power (a spirit) behind it and it is either of God or the Devil the two never mix. Christians who have tried to mix it, God will not honour in Judgment.

It is not the power of music that keeps young people close to God; it is the power of the Holy Ghost and nothing else. It is God alone who saves and nothing and no one else; God doesn’t need you or me.

 

John:6:44: No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

 

John:15:16: Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

 

We have the great privilege of being God’s servants / ambassadors.

 

Isaiah:40:15: Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.

Isa:40:16: And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt offering.

Isa:40:17: All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity.

 

Colossians:3:16: Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

 

 

Sufficient has been said for the time being regarding the love of this world. We will now turn our attention to other works of Satan which destroy God’s people.

 

Before I begin, note 2 clear warnings from God as to what He will do to those who ignore His Word:

 

2Thessalonians:2:7: For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

2Th:2:8: And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

2Th:2:9: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

2Th:2:10: And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

2Th:2:11: And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

2Th:2:12: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

 

Hosea:4:6: My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

 

 

ADULTERY AND FORNICATION

 

The second great sin in the church is sexual sin.

 

1. First of all, most of God’s people have a corrupted bible and it is no small wonder that as the meaning of words have been changed and words deleted, God’s people do not know the difference between what is a holy marriage in God’s sight and what is an unholy marriage.

 

2. Many of God’s people today do not know their bibles, and for those who do, the majority ignore the warnings of God’s Word, their lives reveal this clearly. God hates disobedience and unbelief and it will kill you. God is not interested in opinions about what He has said, He wants obedience to what He has told us.

 

Before exposing sexual sin in the church there is one further lie of Satan that needs dealing with.

 

Satan has deceived the church to fall into one of two camps.

1. The Lukewarm church- that believe they are not under law but under grace and therefore can do as they please in other words disobey the commandments of God (not their words - mine).

2. The Pharisaical church - that obeys most of the commandments of God, but then goes on to add their own commandments as well. Self righteousness is the stumbling stone of many of these.

 

Both end up in The Lake of Fire if there is no repentance.

 

God commands us neither to add to His Word nor take from it. To obey God is to live to disobey is death. What many today think is a light matter, is in fact an abomination before God. God has placed His Word above His name; those who make light of it dig their own destruction.

 

Since by far the largest part of the church is in the do as you please camp. I will deal with this in depth from God’s Holy Word, before dealing with sexual sin in the church.

 

 

 

 

NOT UNDER LAW BUT UNDER GRACE / HE THAT LOVES ME WILL OBEY MY COMMANDMENTS

 

The lukewarm church seek to cover their sin by saying " we are not under law but under grace”, we can do what we want, God will forgive us because we are saved- WRONG, they do not know the Bible and are dangerously deceived by Satan. They only quote 8 words and then forget the rest:

 

Romans:6:12: Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

Ro:6:13: Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Ro:6:14: For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Ro:6:15: What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

Ro:6:16: Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Ro:6:17: But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

Ro:6:18: Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

 

The context of ‘ye are not under law but under grace’ could not be clearer. The apostle Paul categorically states if any continue in sin the result will be ‘death’v16, this he states again in Romans 8 v 13:

 

Romans:8:13: For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

  

Many have been deceived by the devil to believe the apostle Paul is doing away with the Law; this is not so at all. Paul states in Romans 3 v 31:

 

Romans:3:31: Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

 

There are 2 things that the apostle Paul speaks concerning the Law which many twist to their own damnation as warns the apostle Peter in 2 Peter 3:

 

2Pe:3:15b as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

2Pe:3:16: As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

 

1) People twist what the apostle Paul states by ‘not under law’.

 

2) People do not understand what the apostle Paul means by the word ‘law’ for the apostle Paul constantly speaks throughout his epistles of 2 laws which most people confuse (but this is only because they have not studied the Word of God in depth).

 

1 - ‘not under law’: When the apostle states ‘ye are not under law but under grace’ he is speaking of the way in which we are saved. In other words, we are not saved by first having kept the law of God perfectly (what God requires) in our own strength to be rewarded the crown of salvation at the end of our lives (if this was so we would all be damned). But we are saved by God’s grace; God having fulfilled the law for us in His life, death and resurrection - Galatians 4, Ephesians 2:

 

Galatians:4:4: But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

Ga:4:5: To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons

(‘under law’ can be simply understood by the words ‘condemned to die’ for the law of God demands that all transgressors be put to death without exception and without mercy. This penalty Christ bore for us on the cross in God’s mercy towards us.)

 

Ephesians:2:8: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God

 

The Word of God states categorically that none shall be saved by the works of the law; the reason is obvious, we have all transgressed God’s perfect Law and therefore justly deserve God’s eternal damnation: hence we can only be saved by God’s mercy. 

 

Because we are saved by God’s mercy from the condemnation of hell, this does not mean by any means that God’s Law is thrust aside:

 

1Corinthians:6:9: Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

1Co:6:10: Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

 

God has redeemed us to walk in righteousness and holiness. Because of the life of Christ in us we are now able by God’s Holy Spirit to walk in complete obedience to God; in every thought, word and deed. But if we instead continue in sin; we will most certainly be damned - we are trampling the blood of God under foot:

 

Hebrews:10:26: For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

1Corinthians:3:16: Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

1Co:3:17: If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

 

2 - ‘The Law’: When the apostle Paul speaks of the Law, it is vital to understand which Law he is talking about. To be deceived by Satan and self over this is to be damned.

 

a). God’s eternal Laws that never change; by which all mankind shall be judged, in what ever time of world history they are born - e.g. the 10 commandments (the only law here which is not an eternal law being the Sabbath day):    

 

Colossians:3:5: Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

Col:3:6: For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

 

Galatians:5:19: Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

Ga:5:20: Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

Ga:5:21: Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

 

(Note: when the apostle states for example ‘wrath’ he does not mean the wrath of God which should be obvious; neither does he mean we cannot be angry or zealous for what is righteous e.g. Titus:1:13b: rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith; Ephesians:4:26a: Be ye angry, and sin not; what the apostle Paul is clearly stating is ‘wrath’ against the truth of God, in other words mans anger against God hence it is in context with ‘witchcraft’. The same can be said for ‘strife’. We are called to earnestly contend for the faith delivered unto the saints - Jude 1 v 3. The apostle Paul is often found disputing and rebuking in Acts and his epistles e.g. Acts 15 v 2, Acts 19 v 8-9, 1 Timothy 5 v 20, Galatians 3 v 1 etc. What Paul is stating in Galatians 5 v 20 is those who oppose the truth of God; in other words those who do the work of the devil hence ‘strife’ is followed by ‘seditions’ and ‘heresies’.)

 

b). Laws applied to Israel as the covenant people under the Old Testament - e.g. circumcision, unclean meats holy days and so on: 

 

Colossians:2:16: Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

Col:2:17: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

 

Neither Jew nor Gentile are free from God’s eternal Laws; and any who think they are will be rudely awakened by the fires of hell and damnation. But what we can never do, is earn our salvation; hence the apostle Paul warns time and time again in the New Testament to those seeking to earn their salvation by obeying the old covenant Law to Israel that they are deceived, and that dangerously by Satan. We are saved by God’s grace alone to walk in righteousness and holiness to God. Satan has always sought to tip God’s people either side of the balance - beware.  

 

 

 

OBEYING THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD

 

 

1John:2:3: And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

1Jo:2:4: He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

 

John:14:21: He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

 

John:14:24: He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

 

Romans:8:6: For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Ro:8:7: Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Ro:8:8: So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Ro:8:9: But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

 

James:2:26: For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

 

1John:3:3: And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

1Jo:3:4: Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

1Jo:3:5: And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

1Jo:3:6: Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

1Jo:3:7: Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

1Jo:3:8: He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

1Jo:3:9: Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

1Jo:3:10: In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

 

 

I will summarise under 4 points the commandments we are given by God to walk in:

 

1). The teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ in the gospels e.g. Matthew chapter 5, 6 and 7; including the 10 commandments - the Sabbath day being clarified in Paul’s teaching by the Holy Ghost:

 

Romans:14:5: One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

Ro:14:6: He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it.

 

Note: God’s people should live every day wholly unto The Lord, which is the spirit of the 4th. commandment - Isaiah 58 v 13-14, which is to deny self daily pick up our cross and follow Him. But we are able to esteem one day above another e.g. Sunday.

 

Note also that holydays / new moon / Sabbath days etc., speak of what is to ‘come’ during our Lords 1000 year Reign on earth - Colossians 2 v 17; read for example Isaiah 66 v 22-24, Zechariah 14 v 16-21.

 

2). 4 commandments given in Acts 15 v 29 (meats offered to idols again being clarified by the apostle Paul):

 

Acts:15:28: For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;

Ac:15:29: That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well.

 

(Note: v 28 does not mean all other commandments are excluded e.g. adultery, stealing, lying etc. These 4 commandments where specifically given by God to Gentile believers because of sin prevalent in Gentile nations e.g. eating blood, which was not practised in Israel. Note: while as marriage in Israel was well established by God’s law as commanded practise, in Gentile nations this was not so; hence the added commandment to abstain from fornication.)      

 

3). The teaching / commandments of the New Testament writers inspired by the Holy Ghost e.g. The apostle Paul’s teaching on eldership (bishops, deacons), marriage, the role of a woman, headship, dress, discipline within the family and church etc.

 

4). Any commandments given to us in the New Testament which the Old Testament scriptures amplify - help us to understand.

 

To obey these commandments of God which are full of blessing and life, is to fulfil the first and great commandment:

 

Mark:12:30: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

 

Be ye therefore perfect:

 

Matthew:5:17: Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

M't:5:18: For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

M't:5:19: Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

M't:5:20: For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

M't:5:21: Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:

M't:5:22: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

M't:5:23: Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;

M't:5:24: Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

M't:5:25: Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.

M't:5:31: It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:

M't:5:32: But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

M't:5:33: Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:

M't:5:34: But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:

M't:5:36: Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.

M't:5:37: But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

M't:5:38: Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

M't:5:39: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Galatians:5:22: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Ga:5:24: And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

 

Galatians:2:20: I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

SEXUAL SIN IN THE CHURCH

Revelation:9:21: Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

 

Revelation:21:8: But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Exodus:20:14: Thou shalt not commit adultery.

 

1Corinthians:6:9: Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

1Co:6:10: Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

 

Ephesians:5:11: And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

Eph:5:12: For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

Eph:5:13: But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

Eph:5:14: Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

Eph:5:15: See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

Eph:5:16: Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

 

 

 

 

SEXUAL SIN IN THE CHURCH

 

Jesus said:

The standard is not lessened in the New Testament but rather, heightened.

 

Matthew:5:27: Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

M't:5:28: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

M't:5:29: And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

 

Many have been deceived by Satan into sinning against God believing there is a hidden clause in God’s Word which means they are not responsible for past sin when they are born again; e.g. they can now have a relationship or remain in a relationship which is contrary to God’s Holy Word because their past sin is forgiven. God warns of this twisting of His grace, and calls it lasciviousness. There is NO such hidden clause in God’s Holy Word, and those who teach so are leading people straight to Hell.   

 

If one was a blasphemer, a liar, a thief and one continued blaspheming, lying and stealing after a supposed confession to God; who in their right mind would believe that such a person had repented. Yet when it comes to fornication and adultery the false church covers these abominations to God with the false banner of ‘marriage’ time and time again (I am talking here about all main stream churches). The reason is obvious; if Satan can persuade God’s people to sin even in this one area alone, he has won - they will not inherit the Kingdom of God; they will be damned. The church and her leaders are firstly under the wrath of God for this but secondly none of God’s people are without excuse for all have the Word of God in the western world.     

 

The cost:

 

Mark:8:34: And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

M'r:8:35: For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.

M'r:8:36: For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

M'r:8:37: Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

M'r:8:38: Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

 

What is the standard for marriage given to God’s people in God’s Holy Word? The simple answer is you must be physically a virgin and spiritually born again. This is a summary of both Old and New Testament teaching on marriage for God’s people under the New Covenant. Once having been a virgin at the beginning of your first marriage, and also found faithful through marriage, if your husband or wife should die, you are able to marry once again only in The Lord. If you were born again of the Spirit of God after you were married, as long as you were a virgin at time of marriage and this includes your husband or wife as well, then you may remain married to them and God may save them.

 

Note about polygamy: Although in the Old Testament polygamy was allowed, in the New Testament this is not so and God’s creative order given to us in Genesis 2 (Adam and Eve) is restored by our Lord Jesus Christ e.g. Matthew 19 v 3-9 (1Timothy 3 v 2 +12, Titus 1 v 6), the New Testament teaching taking precedent.

 

If a man is already married to more than one wife before being saved as long as he was a virgin at his first marriage and his subsequent wives were virgins when they were married to him, he should not divorce them. But such a man is not to be an elder (bishop) or deacon in the body of Christ. If the man was not a virgin at first marriage, then all must be separated. If one of his wives was not a virgin, she only needs be separated. This is in accordance with the scriptural doctrine of virginity.

 

 

The penalty for not being a virgin- although stoning is past, Hell is present and future:

 

Deuteronomy :22:13: If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her,

De:22:14: And give occasions of speech against her, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a maid:

De:22:15: Then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel's virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate:

De:22:16: And the damsel's father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man to wife, and he hateth her;

De:22:17: And, lo, he hath given occasions of speech against her, saying, I found not thy daughter a maid; and yet these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity.  And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city.

De:22:18: And the elders of that city shall take that man and chastise him;

De:22:19: And they shall amerce him in an hundred shekels of silver, and give them unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days.

De:22:20: But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel:

De:22:21: Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.

De:22:22: If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel.

De:22:23: If a damsel that is a virgin be betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her;

De:22:24: Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour's wife: so thou shalt put away evil from among you.

De:22:25: But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that lay with her shall die:

De:22:26: But unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbour, and slayeth him, even so is this matter:

De:22:27: For he found her in the field, and the betrothed damsel cried, and there was none to save her.

De:22:28: If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;

De:22:29: Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.

 

In accordance with the law, all cases of fornication or adultery except for two virgins outside of wedlock are punished by death. Satan has told many lies about Deuteronomy 24 v 1-4, opening the way for fornication and adultery in the church. The bill of divorcement was not for sexual sin, the penalty for this being death. This bill of divorcement is NOT permitted by our Lord Jesus for God’s people under the New Covenant.

 

Deuteronomy:24:1: When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.

De:24:2: And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife.

De:24:3: And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife;

De:24:4: Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the LORD: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.

 

Leviticus:21:9: And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.

 

There is only one clause given in the Old Testament that escaped the death penalty by stoning or fire; which speaks of God’s forgiveness in the New Testament through the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is given in Leviticus 19 v 20 - 22:

 

Leviticus:19:20: And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to an husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; she shall be scourged; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free.

Le:19:21: And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the LORD, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, even a ram for a trespass offering.

Le:19:22: And the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering before the LORD for his sin which he hath done: and the sin which he hath done shall be forgiven him.

 

This forgiveness was not given to those who were free in Israel but only to those who were slaves (under bondage).

 

God is clearly demonstrating here the difference between someone in the kingdom of darkness and someone in the kingdom of light. The same pattern is seen in God’s Holy Word regarding the fall of angels, let me explain further:

 

When Satan rebelled against God, and a third of the angels with him, they were offered no repentance. They are eternally damned (Hell - Isaiah 14 v 15, Revelation 20 v 1-3, Lake of Fire - Revelation 20 v 10). The reason why they are eternally damned is clear, it is the same warning given to the people of God, if they should fall away.

 

Hebrews:10:26: For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

Heb:10:27: But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

 

Hebrews:6:4: For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

Heb:6:5: And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

Heb:6:6: If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

 

The Word of God teaches us, that when we were in the kingdom of darkness, dead spiritually and ignorant of God; God’s mercy was extended to us, being that we are His elect. (God has chosen us although we deserve damnation). We are as the bond-woman of Leviticus 19 v 20:

 

Romans:7:14: For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

 

The penalty was passed from us to our loving Saviour our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God (the foreshowing of this being v 22) so that we may be His bride (free woman). What is required of us is a public confession and denying of self v 21, and a chastening of us v 20 ‘she shall be scourged’ that we walk in holiness, pleasing to God:

 

Hebrews:12:6: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

 

To reject God’s chastening is very dangerous to fatal.

 

What I am coming round to say is this; the truth is the opposite to what Satan has painted in the minds of most Christians.

 

Satan would deceive you to believe that now you are ‘free’, if you continue in sin, God’s forgiveness covers you:

 

                                                WRONG

 

This Lie has caused many of God’s people to be damned; having their names removed from the book of Life. God’s Word clearly states if you continue in sin, you will be destroyed - 1Corinthians 3 v 16-17, Hebrews 10 v26-31, 1Corinthians 6 v 9-10.

 

Romans:8:13: For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Ro:8:14: For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

 

I caution God’s people by the Holy Ghost, if you continue in your sins you will NOT escape on the day of Judgment but you WILL be cast into the Lake of Fire

 

Many of God’s people have been deceived by Satan, as I said earlier, into believing that God provides them with a clean sheet when they come to God so that they can start all over again e.g. if they have made a mess of marriage before being saved they can start again. This is not repentance but lasciviousness (being lustful).

 

Romans:3:5: But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man)

Ro:3:6: God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world?

Ro:3:7: For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?

Ro:3:8: And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.

 

Jude:1:3: Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

Jude:1:4: For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jude:1:5: I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

Jude:1:6: And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

Jude:1:7: Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

 

 

To repent is to stop:

 

Revelation:21:8: But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable,

 

(the abominable: every other sin not listed individually here)

 

 and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

 

If I am fearful and do not stop - the Lake of Fire.

If I am unbelieving and do not stop - the Lake of Fire.

If I am sexually sinning (whoremonger) and do not stop - the Lake of Fire.

If I am a liar and do not stop - the Lake of Fire.

If I am a sorcerer and do not stop - the Lake of Fire.

If I am an idolater and do not stop - the Lake of Fire.

If I am a murderer and do not stop - the Lake of Fire, etc.

 

God’s Word is crystal clear. But the lukewarm church when it comes to sexual sin twist the truth of God and say once you have asked God to forgive you, you are no longer responsible for your past sexual sins and even though you are no longer a virgin physically, and may be divorced or may have ‘married!!’ twice etc., you are spiritually a virgin and can continue having sexual intercourse with someone under the church banner of ‘marriage’. This is the same lie as telling someone who has stolen 666 million pounds on Saturday but repented on Sunday to keep the money he has stolen because the money is now sanctified - this is blasphemy.

 

God hates this and God’s people must repent / stop.

 

The lukewarm church go to the Old Testament to find as many examples as they can of those who sinned against God, very dangerous, so that they can continue doing the same (I will go through some of these shortly); they forget the warning of the Old Testament. They also forget the New Testament standard for marriage - partly because their corrupt modern versions obscure the truth but also because they want to believe a lie.

 

 

The New Testament standard for marriage is the same as for the Levites in the Old Testament

 

Revelation:5:10: And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

 

Leviticus:21:7: They shall not take a wife that is a whore, or profane; neither shall they take a woman put away from her husband: for he is holy unto his God.

 

1Corinthians:3:16: Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

1Co:3:17: If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

 

Leviticus:21:13: And he shall take a wife in her virginity.

Le:21:14: A widow, or a divorced woman, or profane, or an harlot, these shall he not take: but he shall take a virgin of his own people to wife.

Le:21:15: Neither shall he profane his seed among his people: for I the LORD do sanctify him.

 

Note: in reference to a widow God is speaking about a widow outside the priesthood; a pure widow who was the wife of a priest, he is able to marry. This is made clear in Ezekiel 44 v 22:

 

Ezekiel:44:22: Neither shall they take for their wives a widow, nor her that is put away: but they shall take maidens of the seed of the house of Israel, or a widow that had a priest before.

Eze:44:23: And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.

 

These commandments given to the priestly tribe of Levi are the exact mirror of New Testament teaching on marriage.

 

Now I will go through the New Testament teaching on marriage which is straight forward and deal with Satan’s lies at the same time.

 

1. First of all we must understand there has been NO lowering of God’s standard whatsoever. Any lowering is the work of Satan.

 

Jesus said:

Matthew:5:27: Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

M't:5:28: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

M't:5:29: And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

 

There is no lowering of the 7th commandment but rather a strengthening of it and a very strong clear warning of how we will be judged. This clear standard is found in the Old Testament:

 

Job:31:1: I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?

Job:31:2: For what portion of God is there from above?  and what inheritance of the Almighty from on high?

Job:31:3: Is not destruction to the wicked?  and a strange punishment to the workers of iniquity?

Job:31:4: Doth not he see my ways, and count all my steps?

Job:31:5: If I have walked with vanity, or if my foot hath hasted to deceit;

Job:31:6: Let me be weighed in an even balance, that God may know mine integrity.

Job:31:7: If my step hath turned out of the way, and mine heart walked after mine eyes, and if any blot hath cleaved to mine hands;

Job:31:8: Then let me sow, and let another eat; yea, let my offspring be rooted out.

Job:31:9: If mine heart have been deceived by a woman, or if I have laid wait at my neighbour's door;

Job:31:10: Then let my wife grind unto another, and let others bow down upon her.

Job:31:11: For this is an heinous crime; yea, it is an iniquity to be punished by the judges.

Job:31:12: For it is a fire that consumeth to destruction, and would root out all mine increase.

 

The New Testament standard is not new; God’s elect have known from the beginning for God has put it in their heart.

 

2. Mark:10:2: And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.

M'r:10:3: And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?

M'r:10:4: And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away.

M'r:10:5: And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.

M'r:10:6: But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.

M'r:10:7: For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;

M'r:10:8: And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.

M'r:10:9: What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

M'r:10:10: And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter.

M'r:10:11: and he saith unto them, WHOSOEVER SHALL PUT AWAY HIS WIFE, AND MARRY ANOTHER, COMMITTETH ADULTERY AGAINST HER.

M'r:10:12: AND IF A WOMAN SHALL PUT AWAY HER HUSBAND, AND BE MARRIED TO ANOTHER, SHE COMMITTETH ADULTERY.

 

There is no remarriage allowed in the New Testament at all except after death.

There is only one clause in the New Testament allowed for putting away (divorce), and no other; this is for fornication- Matthew 5 v 31-32, Matthew 19 v 9. This needs to be carried out in this situation to avoid sexual sin, but no remarriage of the innocent person is permitted if sexual intercourse has taken place already (very important to seek God about your future husband, wife, and know what God has said - failure to do so has very serious consequences, this should be obvious but many people rush into marriage). This is why there should be a betrothal period before marriage as patterned in God’s Word, to seek and know God’s will so that anything that needs to be exposed is exposed before marriage.

 

Fornication:  Anyone who is not married or anyone who was not a VIRGIN when they first ‘married’ (false marriage in God’s sight), and is having sexual intercourse is committing Fornication.

(Beware of corrupted modern versions which replace ‘fornication’ with ‘marital unfaithfulness’-divorce is not allowed for marital unfaithfulness, only separation)

 

Adultery: After the marriage of 2 virgins or faithful widowers /widows which alone is permitted by God, any divorce and remarriage is Adultery.

 

Many people who think they are married today, (having been married in church / the great whore), are NOT married in God’s sight but are committing FORNICATION.                                          

 

Note: 2 virgins who have had sexual intercourse before marriage but then marry each other is permitted by God in repentance, as long as they have had no sexual intercourse with anyone else in between- Deuteronomy 22v 28-29. 

 

Separation is permitted in the New Testament and the Law for this is given in 1Corinthians 7.

 

1Corinthians:7:10: And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:

1Co:7:11: But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.

 

(I will come back to 1 Corinthians 7 later because Satan tells a lot of lies about certain verses)

 

Romans:7:1: Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?

Ro:7:2: For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.

Ro:7:3: So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

 

Luke:16:18: Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.

 

Jesus clearly states No remarriage allowed, full stop. Plus, do not marry a divorced person.

 

Matthew:19:3: The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?

M't:19:4: And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,

M't:19:5: And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

M't:19:6: Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

M't:19:7: They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?

M't:19:8: He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.

M't:19:9: AND I SAY UNTO YOU, WHOSOEVER SHALL PUT AWAY HIS WIFE, EXCEPT IT BE FOR FORNICATION, AND SHALL MARRY ANOTHER, COMMITTETH ADULTERY: AND WHOSO MARRIETH HER WHICH IS PUT AWAY DOTH COMMIT ADULTERY.

 

Satan has twisted this passage in particular in corrupted modern versions by deleting 12 words and adding 2 words to cause God’s people to sin against God.

 

Verse 9 is not saying, as many people are deceived into thinking, if my wife or husband have been unfaithful I can marry again.

 

Our Lord Jesus clearly warns us there is no remarriage permitted while either husband or wife lives. To remarry is Adultery.

 

Jesus is answering the question the Pharisees asked Him:

 

Matthew:19:3: The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?

 

In other words ‘can we divorce our wives whenever we like?’

 

Jesus is not addressing ‘remarriage’ at all as many have been wrongly led to believe. Jesus is clearly warning the Pharisees - divorce is out: and if you divorce your wives and the reason for this is because you are evil and want to have sexual intercourse with another woman, you are going to Hell (the consequence of continuing in adultery). There is only one place when you should divorce and one place only and that is if your wife had sexual intercourse with another man before marriage (fornication, the same goes for a man).  In this case you must divorce because the marriage is defiled in God’s sight (not 2 virgins, but 1 virgin and a fornicator).

 

The truth is the opposite to what the Devil would have many believe. Beware people of God, be not deceived - God hates divorce.

 

Malachi:2:13: And this have ye done again, covering the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping, and with crying out, insomuch that he regardeth not the offering any more, or receiveth it with good will at your hand.

Mal:2:14: Yet ye say, Wherefore?  Because the LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.

Mal:2:15: And did not he make one?  Yet had he the residue of the spirit.  And wherefore one?  That he might seek a godly seed.  Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.

Mal:2:16: FOR THE LORD, THE GOD OF ISRAEL, SAITH THAT HE HATETH PUTTING AWAY: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.

 

ANYONE COMMITTING SEXUAL SIN MUST STOP; THE CONSEQUENCE FOR NOT DOING SO IS THE LAKE OF FIRE.

 

Satan has tried to twist any verse he can to cause God’s people to sin, and I have heard many of them over the years, but they are all lies.

 

I will show you an example so you know what I am talking about.

 

1Corinthians:7:8: I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I.

1Co:7:9: But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.

 

Satan has told the lie that the unmarried means or includes fornicators who have been forgiven. This is not true, for it would go against all the teaching in the Bible on marriage. The Apostle Paul goes on time and time again in the same chapter speaking about virgins and wives or widows v 25, v 27, v 28, v 29, v 33, v 34, v 36, v 37, v 39. Never once does he mention a forgiven fornicator being able to marry. As far as burning is concerned, if you are forbidden to marry, you need to deny self pick up your cross and follow Him. The alternative is to be cast into the Lake of Fire forever.

 

Satan has tried to use verse 20 as a loop hole to cause people coming to God to continue to sin:

 

1Corinthians:7:18: Is any man called being circumcised? let him not become uncircumcised. Is any called in uncircumcision? let him not be circumcised.

1Co:7:19: Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.

1Co:7:20: Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.

1Co:7:21: Art thou called being a servant? care not for it: but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather.

 

A child could tell you that the Apostle Paul is not talking about marriage, but about circumcision and servants. But many have used this verse to excuse sexual sin.

 

The bottom line is; if anyone wants an excuse to rebel against God, Satan will find you one. The cost is your soul.

 

Many of God’s people have lead young Christians astray by teaching them lies. God’s people must repent and that means going and putting those things right; and living and teaching the truth from now on. It’s better to do that now and be right with God than face His Judgment.

 

Luke:12:4: And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

Lu:12:5: But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

 

Before I close this section on marriage I will deal with some of the many lies the Devil tells, using SIN in the Old Testament, to cause people to sin against God in the New.

 

 

 

BEWARE PEOPLE OF GOD

 

 

1Peter:5:8: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

 

Sin recorded in the Old Testament is recorded as a grave warning to God’s people not to sin. The Devil has twisted this, to lie, you can sin.

 

DAVID AND BATHSHEBA

Read - 2 Samuel 11 v 1-27 and 12 v 1-20 (Note: certain allowances concerning marriage in Old Testament law which applied to 11 of the 12 tribes of Israel (not to Levi) are not permitted in the New Testament).

 

The Devil only tells half the story and then hopes you forget the rest. Let us examine the Judgment of God brought upon David for his sin:

 

2Samuel:12:9: Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight?  thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.

2Sa:12:10: Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife.

2Sa:12:11: Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun.

2Sa:12:12: For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.

2Sa:12:13: And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD.  And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.

2Sa:12:14: Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.

 

1. Death of the child - 2 Samuel 12 v 15-20

2. The sword raised up from his own house - 2 Samuel Chapters 15 to 19

3. King David’s wives raped - 2 Samuel 16 v 21-22

4. The sword shall never depart from thine house - 2 Samuel Chapters 20, 21, 24 and onwards through Israel’s history.

5. Worst of all David had despised the commandment of The Lord. He had despised God (v 9, 10).

 

He should have been stoned to death - 2 Samuel 12 v 13.

 

But here is God’s Great mercy towards His sinful elect, while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Remember what I showed you about the bond woman (Leviticus 19). But David was punished ‘scourged’ (as with the bond woman) by God for the rest of his life - read 2 Samuel Chapters 15 to 24.

 

Only a fool would test and tempt the Word of the living God by using David and Bathsheba as an example of how one can sin. His Word is quick, and powerful, sharper than any two edged sword (Hebrews 4 v 12), and it will judge you if you disobey Him. God’s Word is The Lord Jesus Christ - Revelation chapter 19.

 

6. David did go on to marry Bathsheba. But this was only possible because Uriah was dead (the law is, death ends a marriage). A continuation of adultery would have been the result otherwise and final Judgment from God.

 

7. If David had not married Bathsheba, he would have sinned against her a second time. Now that he had defiled her, no one else in Israel could marry her and support her.

a). David had taken away her God given support Uriah.

b). To leave her destitute without inheritance in Israel would have been to sin against her again.

 

8. King David had many wives and although this was permitted under the Old Covenant it is not permitted under the New Testament Covenant. King David being a leader, the king of Israel and a prophet of God, living in New Testament times would not be permitted to marry more than one wife i.e. in the New Testament David could not have married Bathsheba being already married (for more understanding - please refer to my note on Polygamy).

 

9. Summary:

God’s people must see and understand how evil their sin is and what God will do to those who despise His grace. We must be very careful we do not trample on the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ - Hebrews 10 v 26- 31.

 

 

 

TAMAR, THE GODLY EXAMPLE

 

In 2 Samuel 13 the very next chapter after God’s dealing with King David; God gives His people the pattern of how He expects His people to behave when they have been sexually sinned against - 2 Samuel 13 v 1-21.

 

Tamar’s response to being raped by her wicked brother Amnon (same father but not same mother), was in perfect obedience to God’s law.

 

1. She cried out:

 

2Samuel:13:12: And she answered him, Nay, my brother, do not force me; for no such thing ought to be done in Israel: do not thou this folly.

2Samuel:13:13: And I, whither shall I cause my shame to go?  and as for thee, thou shalt be as one of the fools in Israel.  Now therefore, I pray thee, speak unto the king; for he will not withhold me from thee.

(This she said before Amnon forced her.)

 

2. She knew, in accordance with God’s law, that once her virginity had been defiled she could not marry (except for Amnon; for which he could then never divorce her - Deuteronomy 22 v 28-29).

 

This perfect attitude and obedience to God’s Holy Word is what God requires; Vengeance belongs to God not us.

 

Matthew 6 v14-15, Romans 12 v 19-21

 

3. She did not yield to the Devil’s tempting to marry someone later. She feared and loved God - God is a better husband than any man could ever be.

 

2Samuel:13:19: And Tamar put ashes on her head, and rent her garment of divers colours that was on her, and laid her hand on her head, and went on crying.

 

2Samuel:13:20b: So Tamar remained desolate in her brother Absalom's house.

 

Listen to God’s wonderful promise to those who fear and love Him:

 

Isaiah:54:5: FOR THY MAKER IS THINE HUSBAND; THE LORD OF HOSTS IS HIS NAME; AND THY REDEEMER THE HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL; THE GOD OF THE WHOLE EARTH SHALL HE BE CALLED.

 

Note: If a married woman be forced / raped by another man, this does not cancel the existing marriage, which is holy before God. Once 2 born again virgins marry nothing can cancel the marriage except death - Romans 7 v 1-3.

 

Note: If adultery ever takes place after the marriage of 2 virgins / faithful widowers / widows: this does not cancel the existing marriage but separation is possible (1 Corinthians 7 v 10-11).

 

 

RAHAB

 

Another of Satan’s lies is to use Matthew 1 v 5. Matthew records the generations of Joseph through Solomon, while Luke 3 records the generations of Mary through Nathan (both Solomon and Nathan being sons of King David).

 

Matthew:1:5: And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;

 

Using the King James Bible only (the Devil has no doubt slipped something into corrupted modern versions); there is no evidence to support the claim that Rahab the harlot of the Old Testament is Rachab the wife of Salmon.

 

1. First the New Testament speaks of Rahab the harlot twice, once in Hebrews and once in James, and does not use the name ‘RACHAB’ but RAHAB THE HARLOT’ and ‘THE HARLOT RAHAB’

 

Hebrews:11:31: By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.

 

James:2:25: Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?

 

Her name is not ‘RACHAB’ but ‘RAHAB’ and she is both times called by the name ‘harlot’ to make sure people don’t confuse her with ‘RACHAB’ of Matthew 1 v5 (God is in complete control of every Word of scripture).

 

(Note: Many people today, as in the Old Testament, have similar names or the same name but are not the same person; confusion of person is made far more easily when there is no surname.)

 

2. There is no record in either Old or New Testament that she ever married.

a). The last words about her in the Old Testament apart from Psalm 87 v 4 are found in Joshua 6 v 25 (Psalm 89 v 10 and Isaiah 51 v 9 are not speaking about the Rahab who repented but of the great harlot, spirit of whoredoms, that can be traced down from Genesis - the tower of Babel, where man first began to rebel against God after the flood - to Revelation; ‘Mystery Babylon the great, the mother of harlots and abominations of the earth’.)

 

Joshua:6:25: And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father's household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel even unto this day; because she hid the messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.

 

b). To say that she married is to accuse her of rebellion against God. The Old Testament law ruled out anyone marrying her because she had been a prostitute. But because she had been as the bond woman of Leviticus 19, she received forgiveness for she believed God.

 

3. Judas and Thamar are also in the generation line of Joseph (v 3); but none would state (but the devil and his men) that God approves of prostituting yourself or having sexual intercourse with your daughter in law.

 

 

HOSEA AND GOMER

 

Hosea is often used as a false argument by Satan to bring sin into the church of Jesus Christ.

 

Hosea:1:2: The beginning of the word of the LORD by Hosea.  And the LORD said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great whoredom, departing from the LORD.

Ho:1:3: So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; which conceived, and bare him a son.

 

No one can prove that Gomer was a prostitute before Hosea married her. I say this for several reasons:

 

a) When God states ‘wife of whoredoms’ God also states ‘children of whoredoms’. The second is clearly future in life of Hosea and Gomer of which chapter 3 speaks. Wisdom would know, in the complete foreknowledge of God, that God is stating to Hosea before hand what will take place and that God told him who to marry. This is upheld by 2 further facts; one is that Israel / Jerusalem (whom Gomer represents) was not a prostitute when God married her - read Ezekiel 16. Secondly Gomer’s sin is called ‘adultery’ not ‘fornication’ e.g. chapter 3 v 1; this states categorically that she was not a whore before Hosea married her but became one afterward as with Israel. The only conclusion therefore that can be substantiated in the light of the foreknowledge of God (which all must confess) is that Hosea married Gomer as a virgin; hence her first child is by Hosea and his name is ‘Jezreel’.    

 

b). The above is strengthened by v 3 of chapter 1. Hosea 1 v 3 does not state ‘So he went and took Gomer the prostitute’ but rather ‘so he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim’. Note: If she was already a whore it is very unlikely that she would be called in scripture ‘the daughter of Diblaim’ linking her to her father’s house and authority (for which in playing the whore in Israel she would have been cast out and more so).

 

Leviticus:19:29: Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.

 

Deuteronomy:22:21: Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.

 

Leviticus:21:9: And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.

----------------------------------------

 

If one were to state that Gomer was a prostitute before Hosea married her; which I believe is unfounded and the work of Satan; those people who want a loop-hole to sin will still be caught red handed; and most assuredly on the day of Judgment:

 

1. Has God told you to marry a harlot to warn a nation of their wickedness against the Holy living God? If God hasn’t, you had better not marry a whore. To do so will end you in Judgment.

 

2. Has God told you to strip and walk naked and barefoot for 3 years as a Judgment against Egypt and Ethiopia as God told Isaiah to do?

 

Isaiah:20:2: At the same time spake the LORD by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and put off thy shoe from thy foot.  And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.

Isa:20:3: And the LORD said, Like as my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years for a sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia;

Isa:20:4: So shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Ethiopians captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, even with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.

 

If God hasn’t you had better keep your clothes on or face God’s wrath.

 

3. Has God commanded you to go and kill a nation, men, woman, infant and suckling.

 

1Samuel:15:1: Samuel also said unto Saul, The LORD sent me to anoint thee to be king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the words of the LORD.

1Sa:15:2: Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.

1Sa:15:3: Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.

 

If God hasn’t you had better not commit murder or you will face God’s Judgment.

 

4. God doesn’t ask us to question what He says. God commands us to obey His Word clearly given to us.

 

1Samuel:15:17: And Samuel said, When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed thee king over Israel?

1Sa:15:18: And the LORD sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed.

1Sa:15:19: Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the LORD, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the LORD?

1Sa:15:20: And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.

1Sa:15:21: But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God in Gilgal.

1Sa:15:22: And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD?  Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

1Sa:15:23: For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.  Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

 

Sin is disobedience to what God has commanded you to do. We had better know what God has Commanded us to do and do it for there will be no room for manoeuvre on Judgment day - Matthew 25 v 19-46, Luke 19 v 12-27.

 

Isaiah:45:5: I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:

Isa:45:6: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me.  I am the LORD, and there is none else.

Isa:45:7: I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Isa:45:8: Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the LORD have created it.

Isa:45:9: Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker!  Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth.  Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou?  or thy work, He hath no hands?

 

Deuteronomy:32:39: See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.

De:32:40: For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever.

De:32:41: If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me.

De:32:42: I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy.

De:32:43: Rejoice, O ye nations, with his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people.

 

5. You know as well as I do that Hosea marrying Gomer, Isaiah walking about naked and barefoot is not the normal pattern of what God commands His people to do in the Old and New Testament. God raised up these mighty men of God to do a specific work, to bring Judgment upon wicked nations that had rebelled against God.

 

I can assure you that Hosea did not want to marry Gomer neither did Isaiah want to walk around naked and barefoot 3 years. But God commanded them to do so, and they became living Judgments against those nations. What God commanded Hosea and Isaiah; He has NOT commanded you and me to do. Those whose love and delight is to sleep with prostitutes or strip naked, so that they can do perverse sexual acts God will judge to Hell and everlasting damnation.

 

Be very careful never to twist God’s Holy Word:

 

Proverb:30:5: Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Proverb:30:6: Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

 

Romans:8:12: Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

Ro:8:13: For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Ro:8:14: For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

 

Before I finally close this section on marriage I will deal with one more common lie the Devil tells from the New Testament.

 

 

THE WOMAN OF SAMARIA: John 4 v 5- 42

 

John:4:17: The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:

Joh:4:18: For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.

 

The Devil tells the lie, surely the woman could not have had 5 husbands, each dying before she marries the next, therefore using the word husband means it's alright to have sexual relations with more than one person along the way. The Devil lies, “as long as it is one at a time and officially covered with the banner marriage (which is best done in the lukewarm church because they don’t mind) it is not sin”. There are many ‘Christians?’ who see nothing wrong in having several relationships before they convert and when they convert they either cover what is already going on with the banner marriage / a blessing, normally done in the church to which they convert, or if they have no sexual relationship at the time, they look for someone in the church to have sexual relationships with (lust).

 

The Bible condemns this as fornication or if they were once married as virgins - adultery. It is nothing else despite the many names the Devil gives it: marriage, church blessing, God’s blessing and so on.

 

God’s people must repent / stop.

 

Our Lord Jesus is clearly saying one of 3 things to the Samaritan woman:

 

Either 1. She had married five men and one after the other had died and

                        her last relationship was adulterous.

            2. As with the Old Testament law, she had been passed from man

                        to man via a bill of divorcement and now was living in adultery

      Or  3. A combination of the above ending in adultery.

 

Some might say, Jesus doesn’t use the word adultery. But they know full well that living with someone outside of marriage is equal in her situation to adultery.

 

A). Under the Old Testament law 1, 2, and 3 are permitted apart from the final adultery.

 

B). But under New Testament law only 1 is permitted without the adultery.

 

Some may ask, what about the change over period? My response is we haven’t got such a period today; that happened 2000 years ago. God is perfectly just and all people will be judged perfectly.

 

 

SUMMARY ON MARRIAGE

 

The teaching of scripture commands a clear standard for God’s people. This is NOT the standard which is ‘ideal’ or ‘if we can manage it’ or ‘if there are no complications’. To disobey God’s Holy Word wilfully, is to face God’s Judgment in The Lake of Fire. If we love Him we will obey His commands.

 

1. Marriage is for virgins only - Further marriage being possible for faithful widowers and widows.

2. Virgins / widowers and widows must be equally yoked if one is born again before marriage.

 

1Corinthians:7:39b: she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.

 

2Corinthians:6:14: Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

 

All other details on marriage have been clearly laid out earlier in this section.

 

Ezra chapters 9 and 10

 

Nehemiah:13:23: In those days also saw I Jews that had married wives of Ashdod, of Ammon, and of Moab:

Ne:13:24: And their children spake half in the speech of Ashdod, and could not speak in the Jews' language, but according to the language of each people.

Ne:13:25: And I contended with them, and cursed them, and smote certain of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God, saying, Ye shall not give your daughters unto their sons, nor take their daughters unto your sons, or for yourselves.

Ne:13:26: Did not Solomon king of Israel sin by these things?  yet among many nations was there no king like him, who was beloved of his God, and God made him king over all Israel: nevertheless even him did outlandish women cause to sin.

Ne:13:27: Shall we then hearken unto you to do all this great evil, to transgress against our God in marrying strange wives?

Ne:13:28: And one of the sons of Joiada, the son of Eliashib the high priest, was son in law to Sanballat the Horonite: therefore I chased him from me.

Ne:13:29: Remember them, O my God, because they have defiled the priesthood, and the covenant of the priesthood, and of the Levites.

Ne:13:30: Thus cleansed I them from all strangers, and appointed the wards of the priests and the Levites, every one in his business;

 

Hebrews:13:4: Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

 

Luke 20 v 18: Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
